Bereavement
& Grief Counselling
Support for men coping with loss, grief, and the impact it has on everyday life.
Grief can affect you in ways you did not expect. You may feel sad, numb, angry, guilty, lost, or unsure how to carry on.
There is no right way to grieve, and you do not have to go through it alone.
Feeling numb, low, or disconnected
Waves of sadness that come without warning
Anger, guilt, regret, or unanswered questions
Trying to stay strong for everyone else
Not knowing who you are after the loss
Struggling to sleep or concentrate
Feeling alone, even around other people
Avoiding reminders or finding them overwhelming
You do not have to grieve alone
There is no right way to grieve. Counselling gives you space to talk about your loss in your own way, at your own pace.
What grief can feel like
Grief can be hard to explain, especially if people around you expect you to be coping. You might feel pressure to keep going, support others, or return to normal before you feel ready.
Grief can come after the death of someone close, but it can also follow other losses, such as the end of a relationship, a change in identity, illness, or a major life change.
Counselling gives you a confidential space to speak about your loss in your own way, without pressure to move on or make sense of everything quickly.
I will not tell you how you should be grieving. We will go at your pace and make room for whatever comes up.
How counselling can help
Talk openly
Say what you may not feel able to say elsewhere.
Make space for grief
Give your loss time, attention, and care.
Understand the change
Explore how life, identity, and relationships may feel different now.
Find a way forward
Begin to live with the loss, without having to leave it behind.
Indoors or outdoors, your choice
You can choose the setting that feels right for you.
Private room counselling
A calm, confidential therapy room at The Grosvenor, Basing View, Basingstoke. This option gives you a private space to sit, think and talk things through without distraction.
A less formal way to meet, walking side by side in green spaces around Basingstoke and Alton. Some men find this helps the conversation feel easier and less intense.
Walk-and-talk counselling
Both options are fully in person, and both are built around you.
